a door opening gift

In the late 90's and early 2000's, I was building green homes in Cleveland and conducting greenbuilding seminars for builders, contractors and homeowners. When I discovered E.O.Wilson's concept of biophilia I was so taken by its broad implications that I began each seminar series with a discussion of the notion. How I could have enriched my seminars if I had a copy of Tim Beatley's book! To know that you are part of a much larger movement that respects the natural world in so many imaginative ways and that the movement is worldwide is a true inspiration. Tim has offered us a gift that is special for those of us who have been trying to be faithful to the earth, but is an invitation to young people everywhere to expand the wonderful horizon he has revealed. Makes me wish I was 18 again instead of 80!!

On Grief and Grace

When I lost my baby in the 1980's no one was talking about the grief of this kind of loss. People said the most uncaring insensitive things - I'd have another one, God needed another angel, and all sorts of ridiculous things. This book has sound theology, and explains what BIBLICAL teachings are about the soul of a baby. Further, it explores a concept many Christians seem to misunderstand - GRACE. In addition to miscarriages and still births, this book addresses abortion. Parents who have lost a baby to an abortion deal with the loss, and the guilt of their decision as well. This is a wonderful book about both the grief and the grace of God and His love for all of us. Most of all, it gives parents who have suffered the loss of a baby hope that they will, indeed, hold their child in heaven.

great way to have all my tmen!

I couldn't believe it when I saw TMEN available for my kindle! I enjoy reading the past issues here and am longing for the day when ALL of the past years are available, HINT! How soon will the earliest years be ready??? Keep up the great work of keeping homestead Info available for the generations to come.

I LOVE mother earth news and thought this would be just like the magazine, only in digital form. It is a few few articles with an ad for every other sentence it seems. I gave it two stars only because I do love the magazine.

Not so good

The digital version has pages and pages of photos with descriptions and the storyis not with it. Frustrating. Next time I will get the digital magazine instead, directly from Mother Earth
