About the Author
Mohamud Sheikh is a Senior Lecturer in International Health, Tropical and Infectious Diseases and Co-Director of Infectious Diseases Intelligence Programs at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of New South Wales. In his nearly 23 years of experience in International Health - Tropical and Communicable diseases control, he has conducted various public health works internationally in developing and developed countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Middle East and Australia respectively. He has been teaching Master of international public health courses for nearly 12 years thus drawing a wealth of knowledge in the field of global health. Dr Sheikh is an author and reviewer for international journals in the field of global health. He has also had numerous contributions to resource poor communities around the world through his charity and volunteer work, especially in Africa, Middle East, and Australia. He has contributed to the field of humanitarian and philanthropic work since the age of 8 and has recently launched his lifetime dream project Eradication of Preventable Blindness in Africa a remarkable humanitarian mission. He also heads two not for profit charitable organisations based in Australia and the Horn of Africa region.

Aziza Mahamoud is currently an epidemiologist at Sidra Medical and Research Center in Doha, Qatar. She has extensive knowledge and experience that span public health, epidemiology and systems science domains. Prior to joining Sidra, she led the urban health complex systems modelling projects at the Wellesley Institute, a Toronto based population health research and policy institute. She also held other research positions in academia and governmental organizations in Canada. Her research primarily focused on developing computational models of disease transmission, conducting surveillance studies, and developing disease prevention and control policies. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatchewan, Canada and a BSc in the life sciences from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada. Her research interests include perinatal health, chronic disease prevention and control, health disparities, race/ethnicity and health, and the application of innovative systems science tools to design and evaluate effective policies.

My daughter LOVES the colors!

I wish I knew why this book is so hard to find. All Eric Carle books are great, especially this one! No words in this book, just his beautiful pictures -- a song in paint!

When my daughter was only a couple of months old, she was interested in everything, but this book really held her attention. Get a hardback copy if you can find one -- paper just won't hold up to a baby's abuse.

not "laminated" and I returned it

I buy lots of stuff from Amazon for my psychotherapy office. The back is plain paper and it is not laminated. It arrived very wrinklet (faulty packaging and I would have returned it for that as well because it was badly wrinkled) But it also just not what I expected at all.

Because even institutions such as the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank are still struggling with large discrepancies in their forecasting, Stefan Bergheim took another investigating look at the most widely used forecast models. His knowledgeable and very readable tour d'horizon of recent research on economic growth culminates in the presentation of his own model - a mix of the best from all economic worlds. The whole book undoubtedly benefits from Bergheim's experience as both an analyst and researcher. He consequently follows his credo that economic research should by no means be treated as a solely retrospective matter, but instead as a science that bears reliable information for future developments.
